FeelHeard is a ‘purely listening’ service that provides emotional support for those feeling lonely and isolated. What’s unique about this service is that you get to speak to the same person every time, so the next call starts from where the last one ended. A professional relationship is built, thus creating a space of trust, ease, and a sense of ‘knowing you.’ Hourly slots are booked via the online booking service, so you can access the services available, clients can either benefit from just the listening service or join ‘The Society for Deep Thinkers.’ The society is a place where you can join fortnightly blogs about topics on human nature and societal issues. It can be where like-minded people can come together to share their experiences and learn something new about life and society. It’s also a place where people can connect and have something regular to attend, giving them a sense of community and belonging.
Please note the service is just a listening service, there is no diagnosis or treatment plan. I have extensive experience in Active Listening, I was a Listening Volunteer for two charities and I am a Key Worker on a Support Programme helping disadvantaged people with health conditions to overcome barriers and get them back into work. I also co-chaired a Health and Wellbeing EDI Network helping the organisation to create a more healthier and cohesive work culture. I have a certificate as a Mental Health First Aider and Advice, Information, and Guidance. I also have an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Social Sciences, and currently I am in my 2nd-year of a BA Hons Psychology and Sociology Degree. I believe this experience has helped to broaden my knowledge and skill set to provide the best active listening experience.
The Society for Deep Thinkers is a newly created society where people can say what they see. Sometimes ‘we see’ or go through things and are unsure if they are real experiences or imagined, or we can tell people what we are going through and not get the right support that helps us validate our experiences. Remember, knowledge is power, and a problem shared is a problem halved.
